The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Obuasi-based Ashantigold, Mr Frederick Acheampong, has tendered in his resignation with immediate effect.
Mr Acheampong, who is also an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), submitted his resignation letter to the president of the club, Dr Kwaku Frimpong on Thursday April 23 2020.
He told Graphic Sports Online that he resigned for personal reasons after serving the club for two consecutive years.
According to Mr Acheampong, his resignation would actually take effect from April 30, 2020.
“I have already presented my resignation letter to the president of Ashgold, but it will take effect at the end of this month. I started serving the club in March, 2018 and I feel it is time for me to call it quits after serving two years as the CEO of Ashgold,” he explained.
When pressed to assign reasons for his resignation, Mr Acheampong said it was personal .
“The reason for my resignation is personal and I thank the club for offering me the opportunity to serve at that top position since March 2018,” he explained.
