FIFA General Secretary set to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday

The General Secretary of FIFA, Fatma Samoura is expected to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, August 28 to announce members of the Normalisation Committee to manage Ghana football.

Her arrival follows the successful withdrawal of Government’s legal suit seeking to dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

After government met with leadership of the world football governing body on August 16, FIFA ordered Government to end the court process meant to dissolve the GFA.

With the successful withdrawal of the lawsuit by Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Dame on Tuesday, the FIFA is now set to announce members of the Normalisation Committee which will replace the Executive Committee of the GFA.

The composition of the Normalisation Committee remains undisclosed until the announcement is made.

The formation of the Normalisation Committee is a major step towards restructuring Ghana football which was hit with crisis after the premier of an investigative piece by Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
