Confed Cup: Kotoko drawn against Coton Sports

Asante Kotoko will play away in the first leg encounter

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been drawn against Cameroun Elite One League champions Coton Sports de Garoua in the playoff round of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) held the draw for the Round of 32 of the continent’s second-tier inter-club competition in Cairo on Friday.

The Porcupine Warriors, who reached this stage after eliminating Kenya’s Kariobangi Sharks on a 2-1 aggregate, were drawn against the the 2008 CAF champions League runners-up.

Kotoko were earlier paired against Camerounian side in the preliminary round but earned a walkover following the failure by the country's FA to name a team for the competition.

Coton Sports started off in the Champions League but dropped to the second-tier comeptition following their 2-3 aggregate loss to El Ismaily of Egypt.

Kotoko will be away for the first leg between January 11 and 13, 2019 in the Camerounian city of Garoua and host Coton Sports in the return leg in Kumasi between January 18 and 20, 2019.
