Boateng, Yiadom shine in Europe

Red Star Belgrade forward, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, continued his fine form on his return to the Serbian Championship after scoring the equaliser for his side to earn a 1-1 draw with Partizan Belgrade on Sunday.

The goal raised the Ghana international's tally to three goals in two league matches in the Serbian SuperLiga after returning from his loan spell with Chinese Super League outfit, Jiangsu Suning.

Boakye-Yiadom scored a brace in Red Star's 6-0 trouncing of Radnik in his opening league match this season before extending his tally to three in Sunday's Belgrade derby.

There were a number of Ghanaian goals overseas at the weekend, beginning with Kevin-Prince Boateng who was on target for Sassuolo, 3-1 winners against Empoli in the Italia Serie A on Friday.

Boateng netted the equaliser in the 13th minute to inspire a strong comeback for Sassuolo who went down 0-1 just a minute into the game at the Stadio Città del Tricolore.

It was generally an impressive weekend for Ghanaians such as Frank Acheampong, Mohammed Kadiri, Benjamin Tetteh, Andy Yiadom, Bernard Terkpetey, Nana Owusu Ampomah and Seth Paintsil who were all on the score sheet for their respective clubs.

Yiadom was on target for Reading and also registered an assist in Reading's 3-0 victory over Hull City in the English Championship, while Terkpetey scored in Paderbon SC's 4-4 stalemate with FC Magdeburg in the Bundesliga 2.

Frank Acheampong returned from injury to score from the spot for Tianjin Teda in their 2-2 draw with Beijing Renhe in the Chinese Super League.

Kadiri was also on target for Arsenal Tula as they played out a 2-2 draw with Rubin Kazan in the Russia Premier League

In Austria, Painstil scored again for Wacker Admira as they won 3-1 at Wacker Innsbruck in the Bundesliga as Ampomah scored and was booked for Waasland-Beveren in a 1-1 draw with Sporting Charleroi.

Daniel Amartey was in full force for Leicester City as they beat Huddersfield United 3-1 in the Premier League with Jordan Ayew enjoying 71 minutes playing time for Crystal Palace in their goalless draw with Newcastle United.

Jeffery Schlupp was an unused substitute for Leicester City, while Christian Atsu came on after 73 minutes for Newcastle against Palace.

Dennis Odoi was introduced at half time for Fulham FC in their 1-1 stalemate with Watford.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah played for 68 minutes for Aston Villa in their 1-2 home loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

Kwadwo Asamoah played the entire game for Inter Milan as they beat Sampdoria 1-0 away from home, while Nicholas Opoku warmed the bench for Udinese in their 2-0 win over Chievo Verona 2-0.

Rahman Chibsah played the full game Frosinone in their 0-2 home loss to Juventus and in the Serie A, while Bright Addae warmed the bench for Benevento as they thrashed Selernitana 4-0


Thomas Partey was a 58th minute substitute for Atletico Madrid as they beat Getafe 2-0, while Mubarak Wakaso was in action for Alaves as they thrashed Rayo Valacano 5-1.

Emmanuel Boateng came in as a 61st minute substitute for UD Levante as they were thrashed 2-6 at home by Sevilla. Raphael Dwamena was an unused substitute for  Levante.

In the Segunda Division (second division), Richard Boateng played for 60 minutes in Real Oviedo's 1-1 draw with Elche, while Yaw Yeboah was in action for CD Numancia in their 0-2 loss to Almeria.


Kasim Nuhu missed TSG Hoffenheim's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund through injury, but Derrick Luckassen marked his debut for Hertha Berlin as a substitute in their 4-2 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Defender Baba Abdul Rahman was left out of Schalke team that lost 0-2 to Bayern Munich at the Veltins Arena.

In the Bundesliga 2, David Atanga picked a booking before being replaced in the 69th minute for Greuther Furth in their 0-2 loss at Heidenheim.

In the Regionaliga (Regional League), Okyere Kwesi Wreidt scored for Bayern Munich II in their 2-3 defeat at Rosenhiem.


Abdul Majeed Waris was on the losing side as Nantes were beaten 2-1 by Lille, while centre-back John Boye played the entire game FC Metz who lost 1-2 against FC Paris.

Lawrence Ati Zigi was an unused substitute when his side Sochaux lost 0-1 at home to US Orleans


In the Bundesliga II, Paul Mensah played the full game for Kapfenberg as they lost 0-2 at home to BW Linz, with Kennedy Boateng also on the losing side as Ried were beaten 2-0 by FK Austria Vienna.

Felix Adjei registered an assist for Wattens in their 2-0 win over Vorwats Steyr.


William Owusu Acheampong was in action for Royal Antwerp while Daniel Opare was substituted in the 73rd minute when they lost 0-2 to St. Truiden.

Eric Ocansey, who had his four-match ban overturned during the week, picked a booking in KAS Eupen's 1-2 home defeat to Oostende.

Nana Akwesi Asare played the full game for KAA Gent as they succumbed to a 0-4 defeat to Club Brugge at home, while Francis Amuzu played 65 minutes for RSC Anderlecht in their 2-1 win over Standard Liege 2-1.

Joseph Painstil registered an assist for Cercle Brugge KSV despite losing 2-5 against KRC Genk who featured Joseph Aidoo for the entire game

Ishmael Baidu scored for Septemvri Sofia but finished on the losing side as they were beaten 3-1 by Lokomotiv Plovdiv, while Edwin Gyasi registered an assist for CSKA Sofia when they beat Botev Vratsa 2-0.


Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey and Mohammed Abu were both in action for Valeranga in their 2-3 defeat at Odd Grenland, with Gilbert Koomson playing the full game for SK in a 1-1 stalemate with Sanderfjord.


Emmanuel Hackman provided an assist for Portimonense as they beat Alhassan Wakaso's Viktorea Guimaraes 3-2 in the Premeira Liga.


Rabiu Mohammed played for 88 minutes in Anzi Makhachkala's 1-0 victory over Dynamo Moscow 0-1 away from home.


Benson Anang opened his account for MSK Zilina as they thrashed Patrick Asmah's Senica 5-0, as Mitch Apau featured for Slovan Bratislava in their 2-0 victory over Sered.


Samuel Mensiro came off the bench to score the winner for FK Ostersunds in their 1-0 win over Sirius IF, as Prosper Kasim scored for the second successive week in Mjalby 5-1 thumping of Husqvarna.


Joseph Attamah played for Istanbul Basasehir as they played out a goalless draw with Bursaspor in the Super Lig, with Bernard Mensah playing 46 minutes for Keyserispor in their 0-2 loss to Konyaspor.
