Host nation, Senegal, booked their place in the final of this year’s WAFU Cup following a 2-0 victory over Mali on Wednesday.

They are billed to slug it out with defending champions, Ghana, who beat Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 in their semi-final clash on Tuesday.

Second-half goals from Ibrahima Drame and Elhadji Kane was enough to send the Senegalese into the final after an impressive performance at the Stade Lat-Dior.

The local-based national side, Black Stars B, will have the opportunity to win the West African trophy consecutively when they engage hosts Senegal on Sunday.

Coach Maxwell Konadu’s side will rely on in-form striker, Shafiu Mumuni, to deliver them their second straight title after beating Nigeria 4-1 to win the last edition at home.

However, the likes of Joseph Esso, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Fatau Mohammed and Mohammed Alhassan among others will be in action for the Ghanaians as they look to return home with the title.

Meanwhile, Senegal on the other hand will rely on their home crowd to help win them the trophy at home on Sunday after an impressive crowd spurred them to the final of the regional competition over Mali.
