The Under 20 team of Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea will play against Genoa Primavera in the quarter-finals of the 2019 Viareggio Cup currently ongoing in Italy at the Intels Training Centre on Friday, March 22.
Berekum Chelsea lost their opening game to AC Milan by a lone goal before defeating Carrarese, and Spezia to finish second in the Group.
The Ghanaians beat Brazilian outfit Atletico Paranese 8-7 on penalties in the second round and they will now face the Junior side of Il Rossoblu, Genoa on Friday.
The other quarter-final games have been scheduled between Inter and Bruges, Bologna versus Braga and Fiorentina against Parma.
They become the first African side to reach the last eight of the tournament which has become a platform to churn out the next generation of footballers.
It will be recalled that former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah played in the competition when he started his career at Udinese.
