Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan, was forced out of NorthEast United’s Indian Super League clash against league leaders ATK on Sunday in the first half after sustaining an injury.
The 34-year-old striker was taken off in the 9th minute of the game with a knock as his side went on to lose 1-3 in the top flight.
NorthEast United’s defeat marked their first in the league this season and the win maintained the visitors position on the summit of the league log.
However, Gyan is expected to undergo further tests to ascertain the extent of his injury before their next league match.
The former Sunderland and Al Ain forward has been in splendid form for the club since joining NorthEast United having netted three goals and an assist in six league matches this campaign.
