Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has heaped praises on his goalkeeper, Felix Annan, for his exploits during their CAF Confederation Cup game against Zesco United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
Kotoko beat Zambia club, Zesco United, 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium to record their first victory in Group C of the competition after their 0-1 loss to Al Hilal in the first game in Sudan.
However, Annan, stood between the defense and his team when he pulled off some fantastic saves to ensure his side walked away with the maximum points.
The Kotoko short stopper was the busier of the two goalkeepers on the day and scored full marks on the 20th minute when he saved Jesse Jackson's penalty to denied the Zambians a needed equaliser.
He again justified why he is considered one of the best goalkeepers on the local scene when he displayed sharp reflexes to tip off Rahim Osmanu's header over the goal frame in the 88th minute.
Besides these, the 24-year-old also made several saves and was the hero on the day for Kotoko having kept the Zambia attackers from causing any havoc.
Coach Akonnor said during the post-match conference that, "Felix was brilliant and that's why he's there. He's No.1 in the country as far as goalkeeping in the country is concerned. No words to describe him. He helps the team a lot,'' the Porcupine Warrior gaffer noted.
Kotoko will travel to Zambia to meet Nkana FC for their third group game on Sunday, February 24.
