Aduana Stars climbed to the summit of the league log after holding Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Sunday.

Marksman of the host, Yahaya Mohammed, was looking forward to adding to his eight-goal tally and went straight into attack but the host could not find the back of the net.

Hearts remained vigilant at the rear, with the defensive duo of Fatau Mohammed and Mohammed Alhassan combining effectively to keep the visitors at bay.

Some of the best opportunities for Hearts fell to Kofi Kodzi and Daniel Bamiah Afriyie could not utilise those chances.

After recess, the visitors took control of the match and nearly surprised the hosts with an early goal when Afriyie hit the cross bar with his shot to the relief of the packed home fans.

With Aduana Star desperately searching for victory, the coach decided to throw more men into the game by introducing some fresh legs but Hearts of Oak worked hard to keep the result barren.
