Frustrated AC Milan are threatening to return loanee, Tiemoue Bakayoko back to Chelsea for not meeting expectations since joining the Italian giants from Chelsea.
Bakayoko moved to the San Siro on a season-long loan after a disappointing start to life at Stamford Bridge, brought in at a cost of £40million from French side, Monaco.
However, the 24-year-old midfielder's stay in Serie A could end as early as January, with Corriere dello Sport claiming he has six games to save his Milan career.
The France international was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2017, but was loaned out following a string of under-performing displays.
In Serie A, he has made only four substitute appearances so far for Milan and manager Gennaro Gattuso has suggested he is still too raw to make an impact.
AC Milan coach, Gennaro Gattuso has not been impressed with Tiemoue Bakayoko's performance
'Bakayoko has to learn how to get the ball,' he said recently. 'We must work correctly. It will not be easy.
'One week is not enough to remove the defects of a player. I would have preferred to be managing older, more experienced club players.'
The former Rennes star was one of three players brought in after Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger to Stamford Bridge as then manager, Antonio Conte sought to bolster his squad in preparation for a return to the Champions League last season.
At £40m, he became the most expensive midfield signing in Chelsea's history and the second-most lucrative overall, behind the £50m paid to acquire Fernando Torres from Liverpool in January 2011.
