Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has been dropped from Coach Kwesi Appiah’s squad to face the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Accra on March 23.
The Kayerispor star has struggled throughout the season to make an impact due to recurring injuries.
However, the 33-year-old forward returned to action for Turkish side on Sunday, when he came on for Atila Turan in their 3-0 defeat to Caykur Rizespor.
In his stead, it is expected that deputy skipper Andre Ayew, who made the list will lead the team at the Accra Sports Stadium to record a convincing victory against the Kenyans.
The 24-man list, which was released on Sunday had five new players, which included defender Joseph Aidoo of Genk, Belgium and striker Caleb Ansah Ekuban (Trabzonspor, Turkey).
Also making the list are Kumasi Asante Kotoko trio Amos Frimpong, Kwame Bonsu and goalkeeper Felix Annan.
The Black Stars are second on the Group F table with six points, one point behind leaders Kenya. A win at home will see them lead the table.
