The eight teams that have qualified for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ghana, are now waiting to know which group they will play in and who their opponents will be as organisers prepare to hold the draw.
Over the weekend, the party list for November 15 to December 1, tournament to be staged in Ghana was complete with defending champions, Nigeria, 2016 runners-up and hosts, Cameroun, South Africa, Mali, Algeria, Equatorial Guinea and Zambia joining hosts, Ghana as the eight teams that will vie for the coveted title as well as the three tickets to the 2019 Women’s World Cup (WWC) in France.
With all the big sides in women’s football on the continent through to the 2018 competition, it will be interesting to see what the draw, scheduled for Accra in July, would end up with.
