Ghanaian bantamweight contender, Duke Micah, has been billed to fight Puerto Rico boxer Janiel Rivera at the Barclays Centre in New York on January 7.
Micah will be making his second outing this season after knocking out Luis Suarez Cruz in his first ring appearance over a year in August.
The 28-year-old is looking forward to returning to the top of the ratings in the bantamweight division after losing his ranking following a year of inactivity.
Confirming Micah’s next opponent, Michael Amoo-Bediako, who manages the Ghanaian said his compatriot will be facing the Puerto Rican on the undercard of Jermall Charlo – Dennis Hogan.
“Yes Duke Micah has been confirmed to fight Janiel Rivera in December before the close of the year,” he told the Graphic Sports Online.
Micah is undefeated in 23 fights with 18 knockout wins and is looking forward to dispatch his opponent in order to make his chances of competing for the world championship brighter.
Having gone over a year without a fight due to an impending promotional dispute with Real Deal Promotions, the Ghanaian returned with an impressive stoppage victory over Mexican boxer Luis Suarez Cruz.
