Van Dijk wary of Chelsea's 'quality' ahead of Super Cup clash

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is wary of the Chelsea's 'quality', as the two sides prepare for a face-off in the UEFA Super Cup battle on Wednesday night.

The Dutch defender has been instrumental for the club and was on the scoresheet as the Reds strolled past Premier League new boys Norwich 4-1 on Friday night.

Chelsea, on the other hand, had contrasting results, suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday.

Despite the loss, the defender is wary of the quality in the Blues' side and will be keen to avoid any complacency during the match.

"[Hazard] is a quality player and he was important to them but I think they have plenty of quality players," Van Dijk told reporters.

"I think they play a little bit different than they did last year. We will analyze them and then we will be prepared,"

"Nothing that happened last season will have any impact on what is going to happen. It is going to be a new game,"

Liverpool will head into tonight's fixture without their first-choice keeper Allison, who suffered a calf strain in the Norwich clash, and will depend on Adrian, who replaced the Brazilian.
