The Sunyani Diocese of the Methodist Church has embarked on a number of projects over the years to respond to the socio-economic needs of people in its catchment area, besides preaching the gospel to win thousands of souls for Christ.

Led by the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Kofi Asare-Bediako, the diocese’s socio-economic projects are complementing the government’s efforts to provide health services and education at the doorstep of people, especially those in rural and deprived areas.
Health facilities
The diocese stretches from Abesewa in the Ashanti Region through Bechem, Duayaw-Nkwanta, Sunyani, Berekum, Dormaa-Ahenkro, Japekrom, Drobo and Sampa.
Over the past five years, the diocese has added three more health facilities to the Yawsae Methodist Health Centre, which has been in existence for some years now.
They are the Kwakwuenya Methodist Clinic, the Mary Jackson Methodist Clinic at Adagyamem in the Tano North District and the Asuakwaa Methodist Clinic in the Sunyani West District.
These clinics, which are sited in very remote areas where there are no government health facilities, are filling the gaps within the healthcare services of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in those deprived areas.
