De Lorenzo donates PPEs to Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has received a donation of 12,000 face masks and 800 pieces of hand sanitizers, costing 19,000 Euros from the De Lorenzo Company Ltd.

The items are to be distributed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and its frontline workers.

Presenting the items, the Country Representative for De Lorenzo Italy, manufacturers of technical and education equipment, Mr. Andrew Kufuor noted that the company has had a 12-year presence in Ghana and had been working with the Ministry of Education for some time.

Mr. Kufuor indicated that Italy had endured the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic and that De Lorenzo recognised the importance of those items to fight it, hence the donation.

He was hopeful that the items would be distributed to the workers to boost their confidence to continue to carry out their daily activities.

Receiving the donation, the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on behalf of management, thanked the company for its social responsibility gesture.

The minister stated that De Lorenzo had been one of the reliable partners of the ministry through its technical and vocational education support and expressed the ministry’s gratitude for the working partnership.

He subsequently handed the items over to the Director-General of the GES Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa for onward distribution to the GES and its frontline workers.
