Ofie 105.9 FM Best Radio Station in Eastern Region

A private radio station at Akyem Oda, Ofie 105.9 Fm, has been crowned champion of radio stations in the Eastern Region.

The 23-month-old station emerged the overall best performing radio station out of 40 in the region competition dubbed, “Eastern Region in a Excellent Media Awards” held at the Lindador restaurant in Koforidua last weekend.

Event Plus Ghana, organisers of the competition, constituted high-powered personalities from the All Nations University, Presbyterian University College and Koforidua Technical University which selected Ofie Fm as the best all-round performing radio station in the region after monitoring all 40 radio stations.

The General Manager of Ofie FM, Mr Kofi Ferguson, presented the shield and the medal that were won at the competition to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Kwabena Bempong, at his office at Oda last Wednesday.Mr Ferguson praised the staff of the station, the people of Akyem Kotoku and the listening public for their tremendous support which enabled the station to win the prestigious award.

The MCE commended the station for making the municipality proud by winning the maiden media awards competition in the region and urged the staff not to relent in their efforts.He urged other radio stations in the municipality to take a cue from Ofie FM by working tirelessly to win laurels at competitive events.
