The Chief Executive Officer of Charterhouse, organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Mrs Theresa Ayoade says her outfit is ready for the 23rd edition of the annual award scheme scheduled to take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday May 7 at the Grand Arena of Accra International Conference Centre.
Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, Mrs Theresa Ayoade said there will not be any dull moment this year’s VGMA.
“It’s music's biggest weekend, let's turn up for the culture. Let's make a fashion statement; it's the red-carpet thing to do. Let's enjoy first class acts, our artistes are equally ready to perform. Let's celebrate our artistes, their music is the reason for the culture,” she said.
Since 2020 when COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, Ghana like most countries, banned social gatherings thus events such as the VGMA coul not happen, however, this year the restrictions have been lifted and Mrs Theresa Ayoade said it is nothing short of good news.
“For a while now, the VGMA excitement has been restricted to a few participants. But this year, we have the leeway to go back to the excitement of in-person experience, and it's going to be nothing short of an amazing experience. So, get your tickets now.
“This is not to say that, we will let our guard down, the virus is still in the system so nose masks, social distancing, ventilation, temperature checking etc which are precautionary measures will be adhered to, so to anyone attending the event, we have your health and wellbeing at heart, we will have fun the right way,” Mrs Theresa Ayoade stated.
The Industry Awards will be held today Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 will be time for the main awards night at which 30 trophies will be presented to deserving actors.
Some categories are Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Best Rapper of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year.
