I will wed Shatta Michy next year - Shatta Wale

Controversial dancehall artiste Shatta Wale says his recent public proposal to Shatta Michy was not a stunt as they will be walking down the aisle next year.

Describing Michy who he has a son with as his "better half", Shatta said he was tired of trolling about the status of the relationship and decided to make it official on stage during the Reign Concert on October 13.

"She is my better half and I believe Ghanaians were talking too much... The day I (first) proposed to her she came to Nima and we met people didn't see, they say I should still show that she is my wife so I proposed to her again, so we are working on our wedding next year, so people should watch out," Shatta said in an interview with Joy FM.

"It is not yet planned but we want to do it next year cos a whole lot of Ghanaians are worried... People are just giving me pressure like when will you marry? But marriage is not bank account... I am not watching people I want to watch God's time, I want to do something nice for her cos she has been with me for so long and she supported me...".

Shatta said he was not bothered by his critics who have labelled his proposal a publicity stunt.

"Those people are fake people that is why they think what I did was fake. Cos if you know my story and Shatta Michy you won't tell me that. It was a gold ring I put on her finger, she didn't even know about it, I only told my team".

He said he felt the moment was right for him to express his love for Michy to the whole world.
