If there’s anything United Kingdom-based Ghanaian artiste, Akata Stone, real name Lloyd Twum-Ampofo has a lot of, it is certainly confidence and he shows that through the distinctive vocal delivery on his new single called ‘Zobrazo’.
He sings pretty well in his natural tone but switches effortlessly to a striking falsetto and also spices things up with some rap. Produced by Nad Xclusive, the mid- tempo highlife track is Akata Stone’s third release this year after ‘Bedroom’ in January and ‘Taking Over Remix’ in July.
‘Zobrazo’ is a catchy, feel-good piece rendered in Twi and English with sprinklings of French. Like a lot of contemporary Ghanaian songs, the track throws up scenarios of romantic love and the singer appears enchanted by a woman’s physique and dance capabilities.
Ataka Stone is hopeful of winning his first- ever award at this year’s Ghana Music Awards UK after being nominated in the Discovery (UK-based) of the Year category.
Signed on to Carta Music, Akata Stone started his music career in 2004 and currently has 15 songs to his credit. He is a versatile artiste with a strong leaning towards dancehall and has been tipped to keep rising by followers of the genre.
He apparently set out to prove through ‘Zobrazo’ that he can stretch his wings in any direction he chooses and that’s a confident move by an artiste with substantial talent.
