According to him, his relationship with Sarkodie has been cool ever since he met him, saying, “I’m cool with Sarkodie, I go to his house.”

Awal disclosed that he and Sarkodie had the same boss which helped to boost their bromance.

“We had one boss called Mr Simon Ohene, that’s where I lived and that’s why he also comes most times. So we have that relationship and rapport together, we had much time to spend together,” he disclosed.

The 2018 MTN hitmaker first runner-up again revealed that Sarkodie also supported him financially in the past.

“He [Sarkodie]  and Mr Simon Ohene Kofi paid my fees and he [Sarkodie] helps me in petty stuff, I give him the credit for doing the good works, I think Sarkodie is cool,” he said.

Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, Awal added that he is yet to release a song which features the BET award winner Sarkodie.

“I even sent him a song to do a verse on it for me and I think we are looking forward to that”.

He said he was not disappointed not to have signed onto Sarkodie's record label, Sarkcess Music.

“I don’t think Sarkodie signing me is going to be a big thing. If he signs me it’s good if not, it’s also fine and others can also sign me,” he stated.

Awal stressed that he is not jealous of Strongman Burner who was joined Sarkcess Music in March 2017.

“I felt happy for a brother [Strongman] and that also motivated me to work extra hard. Maybe Sarkodie has seen something in him that he has not seen in me, I only think I have to really work extra hard,” he explained.
