I am not arrogant - Tinny

Ghanaian rapper Tinny says he is not perturbed when he is described as arrogant by sections of the public as well as members of the entertainment industry.

According to Tinny, known privately as Nii Addo Quaynor, perceptions about his arrogance are shattered once people get to know him.

“My swag is different. I bought in a different thing altogether in the industry, my product was so different and I still got it and so when people tag me as an arrogant and too known person, that is normal," Tinny said in an interview on Accra based Hitz FM.

“When people come close to me, they will be like, ah, are the Tinny we see and hear about?  You are down to earth… so the picture is different and the real person is different,” he stated.

According to him, he has two personalities - one for his private life and another as a performer.

He said: “When you put the camera on me right now I will be Tinny but when I’m not on set, I’m not on stage and everything, I’m Nii Addo, so I’m a different person, I don’t see myself as an arrogant person, take me to everybody that knows me I’m down to earth.”

The "Tingele" hit maker added that he is not yet a global superstar.

“I believe I’m famous but I believe I’m not famous, because Africa is a continent… you could the best player in Africa but not the best player in the whole world and is not everybody who knows Amakye Dede, Lumba and then Jay-Z and I mean Osibisa, so just imagine,” he said.
