Camidoh: Having fan base groups not compulsory for artistes

Ghanaian musician Camidoh has shared his thoughts on the importance of fan base groups, stating that having one is not a necessity for artistes.

In a recent conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Camidoh admitted it is one of the best things to happen to any musician but advises it should not be forced but come from genuine appreciation.

He notes that while fan support should be encouraged, it should never be forced, as artistes need authentic supporters in their corner.

He pointed out how fan bases such as Bhim Nation, Sark Nation and Shatta Movement have positively impacted their favourite artistes.

“I think it is a beautiful thing. In Ghana, we've all seen what Bhim Nation has done for Stonebwoy, Sark Nation for Sarkodie and Shatta Movement for Shatta Wale. Yes, it should be encouraged because the respective musicians thrive when they have such support.

“However, it should not be forced, as artistes need fans who genuinely love their music and love them for who they are, just so they can actually have genuine people in their corner,” he said.

It’s been close to three years since he treated Ghanaians and the rest of the world to his hit song Sugarcane and one would think he is beating himself to deliver yet another banger. However, Camidoh reveals he is under no pressure at all to do so.(Read also: I’m not under pressure to make another hit after Sugarcane –Camidoh)

Camidoh, real name Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, expressed confidence in his ability to consistently create great music and not put himself under unnecessary pressure.
