Residents in northern Volta get improved power supply

The area had been experiencing low voltage during peak hours, a situation that persisted for several months and affected both social and business activities of the people.

Districts affected were Kpando, Hohoe, Jaiskan, Nkwanta and Dambai which sourced their electricity supply from the Kpando bulk supply point.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the General Manager of ECG Volta, Mr Delali Oklu, said the transformer was to boost the voltage levels of the power mainstream, en route to northern Volta.

According to him, voltage monitoring at all substations serving northern Volta customers since April 11, 2018 showed that the required voltage levels were being supplied to customers.

He described the current intervention as an interim measure and promised that a permanent solution would soon be found to the frequent unannounced outages and low voltage.

“Together with our partners, the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDco), we are constructing an ultra-modern bulk supply point at Kadjebi. Once completed, this supply point will serve as a supply of power to customers at Dambai, Jasikan and Nkwanta,” he indicated.
