There’s no stopping Kurl Songx’s rise

Since bursting onto the mainstream music scene, Kurl Songx has drawn a lot of comparisons to the popular Ghanaian singer/rapper, Castro (De Destroyer).

Music lovers are all too familiar with Castro’s musical prowess, his unqiue voice which he lent to many hits including Sarkodie’s Adonai, his dance moves and his rap.

So it is high praise for Kurl Songx to get those comparisons but that is the least of many feats the young chap is chalking in the short time he has been in the music industry after winning the top prize for the popular music reality show, MTN Hitmaker Season 5.

In just a few months, he has released a number of good songs accompanied by quality music videos and also performed on some big stages.

After garnering good reviews for the controversial song, Jennifer Lomotey, and Whistle, both of which featured Sarkodie, Kurl Songx is not relenting. He is out with a new single, Feeling featuring another star on the rise, self-acclaimed bad girl, Ebony.

Under the aegis of Steaman Entertainment, Highly Spiritual Music (HSM) and Blaq Standard Management, Feeling, produced by Kaywa, is the third official single off his highly-anticipated album, which is set to delight with its potpourri of music genres including Highlife, Afrobeats, Soul and R&B.

Within days after its release, the music video for Feeling has 140,000 views on Youtube and still counting.

Hailing from Kwahu Obomeng in the Eastern Region, Kurl Songx was born to Mr. Samuel Agyekum and Madam Victoria Bediako. He attended Adabraka Presby JHS, Opoku Ware SHS and Garden City College.

He started singing in his church choir, Grace Aflame Chapel in 2012, an experience that prepared him as he ventured into the 2013 edition of another music reality show, Vodafone Icons where he emerged first runner-up.

He is inspired by the environment he finds himself in at anytime and he looks up to Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena and John Legend.
