Sarkodie: I almost cancelled Rapperholic concert

Before Sarkodie released his fifth studio album, Highest, two months ago, the rapper was so sure there would be no 2017 edition of his annual Rapperholic concert.

This was because he didn’t have new songs to entertain fans and he believed they had had enough of his old songs.

However, with the release of Highest and songs on the album catching on, he has the right “materials” to wow his audience and he has kicked things into gear with the official launch of the concert at the Multichoice offices in Accra last Friday.

According to the Adonai hitmaker, he holds his fans in high esteem and that compelled him to release an album before the scheduled December 25 date for the concert.

He also promised fans a great time. “My show has featured some of the topmost artistes and this year won’t be different. For now, I don’t want to give away much detail to take away the excitement but I will just say it will be fire at the Accra International Conference Centre.”

Apart from popular Ghanaian artistes including Shatta Wale and Joey B who will be supporting him, Sarkodie disclosed that he has also invited other African artistes who featured on Highest.

The likes of Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Moelogo (UK), Suli Breaks (UK), Korede Bello, Praiz and Yung L all from Nigeria are expected to be at the show.

This year’s marks the fifth edition of Rapperholic and for the organisers, SarkCess and A-Team Productions, it is another opportunity to showcase Sarkodie’s prowess.
