Diamond announced her presence on the Ghanaian music stage in 2006 when she released her debut, Kasa Kyere Wokunu, but perhaps, that song was not good enough to get her the needed attention.
However, in 2011, her song, Taste My Apple, which featured Stay Jay shot her to fame.
But even after that success, the actress/singer couldn’t keep up with the “pace” but it seems she is poised to make a great comeback this year with the release of her new song, Superman.
Superman, an Afro Pop tune, was produced and mastered by Mix Masta Garzy after hiplife artiste, Guru, gave her(Diamond) an idea for the theme of the song when they met in South Africa sometime ago.
The song and its video which is scheduled for release on Friday, November 20, talks about a man who Diamond is proud to boast of. She brags about how he spends so much on her and makes her feel like a queen.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz last Thursday, Diamond, real name, Diamond Nannah Appiah, said she composed the song in honour of “real men” who take good care of the women in their lives.
“The song is inspired by the superman in my life who although is my little secret, is a blessing to me and all the supermen out there,” she stated.
“I recorded the demo in South Africa, came back here to record the full song with Mix Masta Garzy because I wanted to have an indigenous and Ghanaian feel to the song."
Superman is a single off her upcoming album which would be released next year.
Apart from Taste My Apple, other songs she has to her credit are Fylla In Town and Popping which earned her a nomination at the 4Syte Music Video Awards in 2011.
