Good works of Mahama will give him victory in 2020 — Maikano

According to Mr Maikano, the infrastructural development that Mr Mahama undertook for the country during his rule makes him the leading choice for Ghanaians in the 2020 polls.

Speaking after a health walk in Koforidua recently, he explained that the good works of the former President, who is currently the flagbearer of the NDC transformed the country into a middle-income nation.

Ramadan health walk

The exercise dubbed: “Ramadan Health Walk” was to strengthen the participants physically, morally and mentally to keep them fit towards the Ramadan festivities.

According to him, such a massive infrastructure was clear for all to see and urged the party’s faithful to drum home such a feat to their children who would be attaining 18 years so that they would register when the Electoral Commission opens the new voters register to enable them to vote for the party at the upcoming general election.

The Eastern Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Alhaji Issah Mohammed, also said whether the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) liked it or not, the NDC would be victorious at the 2020 polls.

He, however, appealed to the party supporters to use the impending Ramadan to fast and pray for Mr Mahama to enable him to win the elections.

According to him, the good people of Ghana had missed Mr Mahama and wanted him to come and rescue Ghanaians from the poor  leadership of the NPP.

Peaceful man

Alhaji Mohammed indicated that since former President John Mahama conceded defeat at the 2016 elections, that was a clear testimony of he being a peaceful man to be supported to lead the country again and continue his good works that were cut short in 2016.

The Eastern Regional Vice Chairman of the party in charge of Operations, Mr William Atamudzi, who dwelt on vigilantism, said it was ex-President Mahama who first suggested that vigilantes should be disbanded.

For his part, the Eastern Regional Organiser of the party, Mr Hackman Kabore, asked the EC Chair person, Mrs Jean Mensah, to be impartial during the polls, adding that the NDC would  win the 2020 general election.
