Regina said she wanted to educate people on the need to allow the law to take its course when there are misunderstandings and is happy she was recognised.

“I fell in love with the script because it was not the usual love and romance thing. And it was challenging, especially the storyline which spoke about citizens learning to let the laws take action whenever miscreants are exposed.

“I did it because I felt it was a pressing issue that needed to be dealt with so winning an award was not in the picture but today see. Winning means it was good and I should do more.

“Like they say, movies should be used to change societies and there are so many things that we need to deal with using our movies.

Things like teenage pregnancy, child trafficking etc and I urge my colleagues to consider some of these themes when producing movies,” she told the Daily Graphic.

Jungle Justice stars Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Strika, Regina Van Helvert among others. It was directed by Idowu Okeniyi and produced by Regina Van Helvert.

Regina was first runner-up at Miss Malaika 2012. She is currently the co-host of GHOne’s Rhythmz and also an actress.

She is a graduate of the Ghana Telecom University College where she earned a Degree in Business Administration (Marketing).
