Ghana News Evangelist advocates institutionalised prayers

To facilitate a smooth take-off of the exercise, Evangelist Dr Aboagye-Mensah is also advocating the establishment of national, regional, metropolitan, municipal and district prayer committees made up of representatives from the various Christian bodies and fellowships charged with the sole responsibility for planning, organising and executing prayer programmes on a regular basis for the nation.
According to a Ghana News Agency report, the Evangelist, who is a teacher, an author and a lawyer by profession, had also volunteered to play the role of a ‘’Prayer Ambassador’’ for the nation and would mobilise the Christian population in the country to pray intensively and regularly for the progress of Ghana.

Objective
To accomplish his objective, the evangelist said he was going to liaise with the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Catholic Bishops Conference, Independent Churches Association, Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship and Women’s Aglow International.
He said the nationwide exercise would be on the theme “sustained unity, peace, development and prosperity for the nation Ghana.”
Dr Aboagye-Mensah, 64, Founder and President of the Christ Universal Evangelism Network (CUEN), a Christian non-governmental organisation (NGO), said he quit practising as a lawyer about 25 years ago in order to propagate the word of God and would soon travel around the 16 regions in the country where churches and fellowships had already been well-established.

Appeal
He described the exercise as critical for the progress of the nation and, therefore, appealed to the government, churches, media houses, corporate institutions and philanthropists for support to make it worthwhile.
