Why thank God for idiots?

The play, described as a “package of humour served on loads of common sense,” by the author, is Latif’s fifth foray into the field of stage drama. He was responsible for earlier plays  Romantic Nonsense, You May Kiss the Corpse, Gallery of Comedies and The Second Coming of Nkrumah.

The story is about a young couple who are living large because the man has inherited his late brother’s property. Despite all they have, the marriage is on the rocks.  Expressing their emotions towards each other is one big problem. One midnight, in the midst of a very heated argument, they have a visitor.

Who is this visitor, is it the ghost of his late brother? What is the purpose of the visit at that ungodly hour?  Will this visit be good or bad news to the couple? This is the puzzle that the play unravels.

Thank God For Idiots is presented in partnership with Graphic Showbiz and the National Theatre. It is sponsored by Alomo Bitters.
