The trip dubbed ’Njoy Ghana Tours’’  which is also in collaboration with Tour Operators of Ghana and Tourist Watch is to promote Ghana as a tourist destination where people can enjoy cultural heritage and festivals.

Patrons of Saturday’s trip which is made up of mainly journalists and musicians will feature exciting side attractions such as musical trailer which will see performances by Kaakie, Ebony, Galaxy, Trigmatic, Kokoveli and Oguskele as the tour bus makes stops on its way to Kwahu.

“We decided to get on board mostly journalists and celebrities to have a feel of what we are talking about. Food and drinks will be served to all those who will be on board the luxurious Scania Marcopolo bus provided by Intercity STC.

“ The bus comes with a restroom, a coffeemaker, charging ports, free wi-fi and a lot more that will ensure that all on board feel cozy and well entertained” Abeiku said.

Africa Makeup & Beauty Fair’

THE maiden edition of the Africa Makeup and Beauty Fair will come off on Friday, April 14 to Monday, April 17 at the Providence Event Centre, adjacent the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, Accra.

The Africa Makeup & Beauty Fair, a four (4) day event is aimed at connecting the Ghanaian makeup and beauty industry to the other African countries.

Almost all the big names in the make-up industry will be present at the event and will try their products on patrons who will make it to the event grounds.

It is an initiative by Makeup Ghana, a social enterprise creating a unifying platform for the stakeholders in the makeup and beauty industry. Sessions of the fair include exhibitions, workshops and seminars, training, makeup and beauty shows, live demos, discount sales and product launches.

Rebecca Donkor CEO of the event urged everyone to come to the event.

MTN Easter bash

Kwahu is the place to be during Easter and MTN is adding up to the activities that will happen on the mountain.  Some of the activities which mark the celebration is the Pre-Easter Jam today, April 13 at Starboat, Nkawkaw followed by a street jam at Obomeng on Friday, April 14.

There will be a health walk, costume carnival and coronation of Obemeng chief on Saturday, April 15 and all these will be sealed with a Highlife concert featuring Amakye Dede at the Nyarkoa ba Nyarko Hotel.

That is not all, the fun continues with EPL live match, a concert with Bisa K Dei and Ofori Amponsah among others at Nyarkoa ba Nyarko Hotel the following day.

King Benjah and Boomers at One Corner Pub

It has been the habit of keyboardist, guitarist and recording engineer, King Benjah, to lead his Boomers  Band on  tour of  a specific town  during Easter and this time, they are  working  in Accra.

They will be at the One Corner Pub, near Top Radio at Kokomlemle,  on Friday, April 14 from 7.00pm to help liven up the city for Easter revellers.  Also on the bill are Joe Wizzy, Kento, Asanqoma, Nutty Ranking and Blousing Jay.

King Benjah is a versatile player and he always brings his experience to bear on the all-round repertoire of his band.

He became a member of the Boom Talents in 1974 when it was  led by his saxophonist father, JK Boom. When that band folded up, he played with the Tema-based Super Hippies before joining CK Mann  and eventually starting The Boomers.

The band and the guest performers will be in action again on Saturday, April 15 at Vienna City, Kwame Nkrumah  Circle before getting back to One Corner Pub for a session on Easter Monday.

John and John premieres on Saturday

Kofas Media will give movie lovers an opportunity to meet with their favourite celebrities on Saturday, April 15 when it premieres its latest movie, John and John at the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall and Westhill Mall respectively.

The movie which will show at 5pm, 7pm and 9 pm is directed by Kofi Asamoah and it features a tall list of renowned stars such as  Pete Edochie from Nigeria, Lilwin, Kalybos, Nana Ama McBrown, Joselyn Dumas, KSM, Ahuofe Patri, Bishop Bernard Nyarko, Selly Galley,  and Grace Nortey.

The rest are Grace Omaboe, Moesha Bodoung, Fella Makafui, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Salma Mumin, John Dumelo, Abeiku Santana and Umar Krupp.

The movie is about corruption and how it affects a country. With the characters in the movie, Kofi Asamoah, director of the movie assured movies goers to expect nothing but a very good movie.

Ofori  Amponsah, Becca  for  Lords of the Ribs

In addition to laughing their hearts out, patrons of the annual comedy show, Lord of the Ribs will jam to music from Ofori Amponsah and Becca at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, April 15.

That is not all, other musicians also tasked to entertain patrons are Kofi Bentil of Western Diamonds, B- Ryt and Thiwe Mbola from South Africa.

And this year, the comedians billed to split the sides of patrons with their humourous trade are from Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria. They are Salvador, Acapella, DKB, Lekzy, Jacinta and Khemikal.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         According to Lawrence Agblo, Head of Production of Event Factory, organisers of the event the comedians and musicians were selected based on public expectations of the event.

Musicians and comedians who have performed at the event include Irene Logan, Amandzeba, Gordons, Omo Baba, Bash, Praye, Akpororo, Buchi and Bovi.

Another VGMA jam at T. Poly Park

The grounds of the Takoradi Polytechnic Park will shake on Saturday, April 15, as winners of this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards storm the place in a jam called VGMA Celebration Jam.

On stage will be Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, EL, Joe Mettle, Yaa Pono, Chris Waddle, Mary Agyeman, Nacee, Joey B, Article Wan, Afriyie Wutah, Wisa and Ebony Reigns. 

According to the organisers of the show, Charterhouse, the reason for the jam is to allow people of Takoradi have a feel of the awardees of this year’s VGMA.

“In addition to the winners of this year’s VGMA who will be performing on the day, we are giving other musicians the opportunity to thrill their fans in Takoradi. This is the first time we are doing an after party but I know it is going to be a blast”, Irene Palgrave, Media Manager at Charterhouse said

Amanda hosts The Easter Party

Socialite Amanda Acquah is throwing a party dubbed The Easter Party tomorrow, Friday, April 14 at O.Xutra Lounge, Osu.

The star studded party which will host 15 celebs including 4X4, Keche, Shatta Wale, James Gardiner, Too Sweet Annan, Bibi Bright, Salma Mumin, Nikki Samonas,  Benedicta Gafah,  Afia Odo,  Elikem Kumordzie, Hajia 4 Real among others aims at getting fans close to their favourite stars.

In an interview with Showbiz, Amanda said she decided to put together The Easter Party to give revellers who cannot make it to Kwahu a good time too.

“ Also, the party is to give fans of the celebrities an opportunity to interact with them which is something that doesn’t happen often”, the mother of one said.

She explained that the party is going to be an annual event adding that different celebrities will be invited each year.

 

Throwing more light on the party, Amanda said” aside fans interacting with the celebs there will be performances by the musicians mentioned and a comedy performance by Kofy.
