Thrills at Celebration of His Grace

It certainly was a wonderful time for patrons who danced the evening away amidst cheers to music performances from Rev. Thomas Yawson, OJ, Bernard Amankwah, Gwendolyn and Tyra who took turns to thrill.

First, it was Gwendolyn who set the tone for the evening with her soul inspiring renditions of songs such as I Give Myself Away by William McDowell. The charged atmosphere was then sustained by Tyra of TV3’s Talented Kids fame. She took patrons back to the good old times with Nicole C. Mullen’s My Redeemer Lives.

The auditorium was, however, set ‘ablaze’ when award winning artiste, Micheal Oware Sakyi, popularly known as OJ mounted the stage. Since he hit the limelight about a decade ago, OJ has not only endeared himself to his fans with his songs but also his stagecraft. Boy, that man knows how to rock and he sure sent patrons into a frenzy till the end of his act.

He was obviously in his element as he took the audience through his repertoire of music including Apor Yesu, Mehia Wo, Onyame Ayebi and Ma Ye Se Wo Pen before bowing out.

Bernard Amankwah also took the patrons through a worship session with songs such as Hossana, Wo Y3 Onyame, Come to Jesus from his latest album, I’m Redeemed, which was launched on the day. The first copy of the album was bought at GHC 10,000.

Gospel legend, Rev. Thomas Yawson, of Fa Woho Bo Nyame fame also thrilled patrons with some of his old songs such as Agya Onyame. He was later joined on stage by gospel artistes, SP Kofi Sarpong, Lady Prempeh and OJ.

Finally, a reggae session by Bernard and his team brought the curtains down on the show which recorded good patronage and was well produced.

In an interview with Showbiz after the show, Bernard said the concert has helped him get close to his fans and members of the public who support his Ministry.

“ It’s not about the numbers but seeing that people especially the youth are happy to be in the presence of God gives me joy and satisfaction that there is hope for Christendom,” he stated.

This year’s Celebration of His Grace concert was sponsored by National Theatre, Innolink Security & Printing house, Innovates Company, Special Soft Drinks, Safe Bond Africa, IS Ghana, New Professional Audio Systems and Graphic Communications Group Ltd.
