Sakumono Youth Choir holds 5th anniversary concert

Beyond the entertainment value, the organisers  believes that the event was to provide an opportunity for choral music lovers in Sakumono and its environs to appreciate the full potential of choral music in the development of people.

The group treated audiences at the ceremony to various rendition of classical, choral and African traditional music while the audiences were glued to their seats, listening with admiration. Occasionally, some in the audience stood to dance to the melodious tunes being rendered.

Sakumono Youth Choir is a non-denominational choir based in Sakumono-Estates. The group was founded by two gentlemen- Messrs Isaac Okyere Ankama and Ernest Kofi Amarh- who are ardent lovers of music.

Mr Okyere Ankama in an interview with the Graphic Showbiz said in spite of the teething challenges, the group has not looked back and has been working hard to  became a household name just like the likes of Winneba Youth Choir and Tema Youth Choir among other choirs.

The Choir has been ministering to people during events such as weddings, funerals, church concerts, birthday anniversaries. Sakumono Youth Choir has performed on the Joy News Channel last Christmas and also shared the stage with the Harmonious Chorale and other choirs during the 70th birthday anniversary of Rev. Joyce RosalindAryee.

Mr Okyere Ankama said the non-denominational choir will soon launch its maiden album to seal the several months of hard work invested in the group adding that some of their original compositions have been done waiting to be recorded.
