Ruff n Smooth for AFROFEST music festival

The multiple hit making group which is made up of Ricky Nana Agyemang (Ruff/Bullet) and Clement Baah Foh (Smooth/Akhan) will perform for over 70,000 people at this year’s concert slated for Saturday, July 9 and 10 at Woodbine Park in Toronto.

According to Akhan, a member of the group who spoke with Showbiz, they will perform with a live band on stage for more than an hour.

“We are performing live with a band. We have performed live at some concerts in Ghana but this is going to be our major live performance,” he added.

Other African artistes to perform at the 28th edition of the festival are Bamako Quintet from Mali, Djouna Big One Mumbafu from Congo, Emmanuel Jal from Sudan and Toto Guillaume from Cameroon.

Affairs at the two-day festival will be steered by MC Bonde, host of Voce Africa. 

The biggest Afrobeat event in Canada, AFROFEST is annual festival that brings together people of different races and culture to enjoy African music.

It is also a music, dance and cultural festival that seeks to celebrate African culture within the Sheffield region and aims to bring together many people of different backgrounds. 

Countries that have represented at the festival in previous editions are Ethiopia,Uganda, Senegal, United Kingdom, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe.
