Raquel to rock romantic

Organisers say apart from the soulful songstress who will treat patrons to some love inspired songs, Sarkodie who has risen to become a prominent figure on the Ghanaian music scene would also spice up the show with his own renditions of some popular love songs.

Last December, when Raquel and Sarkodie paired up for a performance of Raquel’s Sweetio at Sarkodie’s Sarkology album launch in December last year, the duo no doubt won the admiration of the patrons and an encore of such a well-rehearsed act will surely be an extra package for patron’s at the event.

Apart from Raquel and Sarkodie who would have to prove how romantic they could be, actor and presenter, Chris Attoh, also has an extra task to keep the atmosphere charged with his lessons on love as a presenter on the night. He will be assisted by Benny Blanco who is the current co-host of A New Day on TV3.

“As Valentine’s day has been set aside as a special day for people to celebrate their love, we thought it wise that Raquel celebrate the day with people who have shown her much love all these years since she hit mainstream music and we hope to maintain this bond that has grown between them with events such as these” a member of Raquel’s management team told Showbiz last Tuesday.

Raquel had a similar show on Valentine’s Day last year which went very well. Spokesman for +233 said they were hoping there would be a bigger turnout this year.

Born Raquel Ammah, the talented singer made inroads into the music scene in 2009 with the release of her first official track, Odo

Prior to that, Raquel as an underground artiste had released several songs one of which was, This is Me, which was used in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s A sting in a tale.
