ONE theme that runs through most of her songs is love and it seems Raquel is not ready to depart from that trend.
She created a ‘love’ atmosphere at Area Codes Plus in Mataheko, Accra, when she held her I Slay concert last Sunday.
The 8:00 pm concert was an opportunity for the songstress to rekindle her relationship with her fans after being silent on the music front for some time. The event recorded the Sweetio hit maker as a vocal power in the industry.
Poised to make a good name after her come back, Raquel thrilled her audience with songs from her repertoire such as Lovi Dovi, Minsumobo, I Won’t Cry, Ajei and her new single, I Slay which is getting some attention on the airwaves.
With support from Hit FM’s Andy Dosty, who was behind the turntables as DJ on the night, Raquel excited the guests with her dance moves and stage craft which held them charmed in about three hours of her act.
To get the audience more involved in her performance, the Lovi Dovi artiste who was clad in a knee length flowery dress occasionally got into the crowd to get the fans sing along with her.
After a successful evening, Raquel expressed her appreciation to her fans who came out in their numbers to support her. She told Showbiz, “the success of today’s concert has boosted my confidence and I know my new song, I Slay, will be a hit”.
Raquel is known for some good songs like Sweetio, I Won’t Cry and KƐ Ha Mi. Since her smash hit single, Sweetio, made waves in 2011, Raquel has worked her way up the music ladder and she seems poised to make great strides in her chosen field.
Annually, she holds the Black, Bold and Beautiful Rapid Cupid shows on Valentines’ Day but this year, she spent the day with patients at the Childrens’ ward of the Keta hospital.
