National Symphony Orchestra, Edem to light up Franklin Lodge

Speaking in an interview with Showbiz, Mr Joe Addo, Chairman for Archiafrika said the main aim of the show is to draw attention to landmarks like the Franklin Lodge that have been ignored in James Town.

According to him, many places of entertainment and social activities like Sea View Hotel have been destroyed over the years but with the musical festival it is the hope of the organisers to bring ‘life’ back’ to a place like Franklin Lodge.

Apart from the musical festival which starts at 2pm, there will be other activities such as exhibition, gallery display among other activities.

Franklin Lodge was constructed where the Portuguese built their first bastion, St Vicente, which was demolished by the Ga people in the 16th Century.

It was constructed using bricks from slave ships around 1750 and it is adjacent a public square where slaves were once auctioned and sold.

The music festival is supported by GCB Bank, The Flanklin family, Alliance Francaise, Coral Paints and Accralomi.
