Speaking with Showbiz on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse and a member of the 2016 VGMA Selection Committee, George Quaye, said his outfit is ready to give the people of Ho and its environs the time of their lives on Saturday.

“It was an amazing event at Cape Coast last year. The support was massive and I believe that being the first time in Ho, the people there will do same to make this year’s Nominations Jam a big success,” he stated.

In addition to the well known artistes treating patrons, there will also be performances from nominees of the Unsung Artiste category.

The main VGMA event comes off on May 7 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). In all, 28 categories covering Highlife, Hiphop, Reggae, Dancehall, Gospel, Afro Pop, Song Writer, Music Producer and other special honours will be given out to deserving artistes for their works in the year under review.

This year’s event themed, “Let the Music Play Live” is to encourage artistes to nurture the skills of playing live band music.

The 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is sponsored by Vodafone, supported by Star Beer, Mentos, CAPP (Pisen), Furniture City, Airport View Hotel, Kempinski Hotel and powered by Charterhouse.
