Fun galore with Guinness as Akon, Big Sean, Wiskid storm Accra

It is a concert meant to cater for different musical tastes so international superstar,  Akon; American hiphop act, Big Sean; Nigeria’s Wizkid and popular Ghanaian dancehall acts, Samini and Shatta Wale will all be there.

“The concert will give music lovers a platform to experience and taste the “once in a lifetime opportunity” of a world-class concert,” a representative of the show organisers, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, told Showbiz.

Akon is not a new name in this country. He has been here on a few previous occasions and his fans trust he has something special up his sleeves again for them this time around.

Born Aliaune Daye Thiam in Senegal, Akon has risen to become an important fixture on the American popular music scene. His 2004 debut album called Trouble  contained  hit songs like Ghetto and Locked Up which reached the Top 10 on the American Billboard singles chart.

Owner of  the well-known Konvict Muzik  record label, the four - time Grammy Award winner is very likely to get fans singing along to some of his hits  like Smack That, I Wanna Love You and Don’t Matter.

Big Sean has also made a name for himself in American hiphop circles. Real name Sean Michael Anderson, the rapper’s first studio album in 2011 Finally Famous indeed made him famous. He would definitely strike a chord with hiphop lovers at the Guinness Big Eruption concert.

Wizkid has a bit of a following in Ghana aroused by songs such as Holla At Your Boy, Gidi Girl, Ori Mi and Tease Me. He is an acclaimed performer far beyond his home shores of Nigeria and he can look forward to fans dancing to his songs in Accra.

The two most prominent names in dancehall in Ghana at the moment, Samini and Shatta Wale would have a single platform to make the fans judge their calibre.

Both acts have claimed to be the real champion of dancehall in Ghana so the  Guinness Big Eruption concert on  Saturday should help settle issues.
