Concert for Mac Tontoh at Gold Coast

Tontoh died on August 16, 2010 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.  Apart from being a member of Osibisa, he also recorded his own music and helped many young musicians to find their feet in the music business.

Patrons at the show will be treated to interpretations of Osibisa gems such as Sunshine Day, Music for Gong Gong, Welcome Home, Woyaya, Fire, Coffee Song, Celebration, The Warrior and Wango Wango.

 “Mac Tontoh was a  dedicated musician and kind-hearted man who gave of his time and resources to see others blossom,” said Dr Kwesi Owusu of Creative Storm, a member of the team putting the show together.  

Special guests  for  the 7.00pm programme are drummer and founding member of Osibisa, Sol Amarfio; keyboardist and producer, Bessa Simons and businessman, Joe Tontoh.
