Ghana Oil and Gas Awards opens nominations
NOMINATIONS for this year’s Ghana Oil and Gas Awards (GOGA 2015) have opened to reward the achievements of local and international companies involved in the Ghana oil and gas sector.

The awards will bring together players in the oil and gas industry that have played a defining role in moving the industry forward.
A press release issued by Xodus Communications Limited, organisers of the annual event, said in times like these, when the oil and gas sector was faced with consistent challenges, the ability of organisations as well as the people involved in the industry to deliver the technologies, financial packages, insurance products, best practices and initiatives to succeed was crucial.
It said the Ghanaian economy had become increasingly reliant on energy to sustain growth and the awards would be dedicated to championing excellence in the industry.
The initiative, the release said, was to showcase the activities and achievement of companies in the past year and reward excellence in the upstream and downstream sectors of the industry.
The release said the awards entries would be validated by the international auditing firm, Ernst and Young, and the event statistician remains Nielsen Ghana.
It said the awards would acknowledge Chief Executive Officer of the Year in Upstream and Downstream, Lifetime Achievement, Exploration (Drilling and Well Completion Excellence), Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility, Excellence in Health, Safety, Environment as well as Quality Engineering and Construction Company of the Year.
Others include Local Content Initiative-Upstream, Brand of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Oil and Gas Financial Services Provider of the Year, Oil and Gas Insurer of the Year, Lubricant Product of the Year, Bulk Oil Distributing Company of the Year, Promising Oil Company of the Year, Consulting and Recruitment Company of the Year and Policy Activist of the Year.
Nominations would close on October 2, 2015, with the event itself taking place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel on December 11, 2015.
