They are the Gomoa Ajumako Bank at Afransi, the Gomoa Rural Bank at Apam and the Eastern Gomoa Rural Bank at Gomoa Dominase.

The Chairperson of the 11-member board of the bank, Mrs Rose Newman, said this in an interview with the press after a football gala which was organised by the Gomoa Ajumako Rural Bank.

She said the Gomoa Community Bank, with its head office at Gomoa Ankamu in the Gomoa West District, had partially commenced business and was awaiting final approval by the Bank of Ghana.

She said the board had appointed a managing director to head the bank but declined to give more details about the appointment.

Mrs Newman said the three former banks would now operate as branches of the Gomoa Community Bank.

She expressed the hope that the merger would assist the bank to derive more profits and also keep them in the banking industry.

The Gomoa Ajumako Rural Bank branch Manager, Mr Job Arkoh, said the essence of organising the football gala was to ensure that the workers stayed fit, adding that regular exercise was important for all workers.

Mr Arkoh said the bank had also launched new products to improve upon their services to customers
