An electronic appliance manufacturer, Samsung, is implementing a new strategy to ensure that its Ghanaian customers get access to its products made using the innovative technology aimed at providing convenience for users.
Following the introduction of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 onto the Ghanaian market, the company has partnered Standard Charted Bank to introduce a flexible payment plan to meet all income levels.
The partnership will enable customers to purchase the smartphone and pay in instalments over a period of six to 12 months.
The Business Leader of Samsung Handheld Products, Ghana, Mr Jaspreet Singh, told a cross-section of media persons in Accra that in order to access the new payment plan, customers only needed to walk into any Samsung authorised shop, fill and submit a form to provide information on eligibility.
Once that is approved by the bank, the customer would receive a notification of approval with a personal identification number (PIN) the customers would print and use to pick their devices from the Samsung authorised shop.
“The payment plan comes with no required down-payment or processing fees and is open to all salaried customers who have current partnership with Standard Chartered Bank,” Mr Singh explained.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the world’s most sought-after smartphones, which has resulted in a continuous rise in demand for the device on the local market.
He said Samsung Ghana, in its effort to satisfy the needs of valued customers and ensure the Galaxy S4 reached all customers, went into the unique partnership to bring everybody on board.
“This is our way of showing that we understand Ghanaians and to reiterate our commitment to making the Galaxy S4 available to all customers irrespective of their financial status,” he said.
He added that the company’s understanding of the African market enabled it to continuously introduce innovations to make lives better for the average African customer.
Samsung has also introduced the Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH), a warranty coverage that entitles the user to screen repairs and liquid damage repairs to Samsung S4 devices that are damaged from accidents within the Samsung 24-month warranty period.
Under ADH, each device is allowed two such incidents per 24-month period.
The company also requires customers of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to register on e-Warranty platform by texting the security number of the phone (IMEI number) to short code 1453 after purchasing the device.
