MTN appoints new General Manager for sales and distribution

MTN Ghana, a leading telecommunications company in Ghana has announced the appointment of Abubakar Mohammed as the General Manager(GM) for Distributive Trade.

As GM for Distributive Trade, Abubakar Mohammed will be responsible for the Southern District, leading the Consumer Sales team to develop and meet strategic sales and distribution targets. 

He will also develop indirect/third party retail distribution channel strategies and expand those relationships. 

His responsibilities will also include the development of sales assignment forecasts and reporting structures for local markets. 

Abubakar holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and an MBA from the University of Ghana Business School. He has served in various capacities since joining the company as Sales Officer in 2001. 

In a statement announcing the appointment, Sales and Distribution Executive for MTN Ghana, Eric Nsarkoh, said, ”With the glowing credentials Abu has earned in commercial leadership and the remarkable successes chalked on the job, his elevation to the position of General Manager for Southern Ghana only comes to acknowledge the major leadership competencies he has demonstrated in his years at MTN.” He wished Abubakar success in his new role in MTN Ghana.
