LIve Event: Rural banks outclass multinationals in Ghana Club 100 rankings

About 13 rural banks have so far been announced as members of the 2013 edition of the Ghana Club 100 currently underway at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
The club is a list of the 100 most prestigious companies in the country, ranked in order of performance, profitability and impact on the economy in the year under review.
The rural banks, which operate mostly in rural and deprived communities, outclassed some multinational companies to make it into the list.
So far, 60 companies have been ranked.
Some of the the rural banks that have so far made the list includ the Adonten Community Bank, Adum Rural Bank, Kasena Rural Bank, Amansie West Rural Bank and the Upper Manya Krobo Rural Bank Limited.
Others include the Amanano Rural Bank Limited, Sumatra Rural Bank, Mwanbengya Rural Bank, Atwima Mpouma Rural Bank and the Upper Amenfi Rural Bank Limited.
The rest are the South Akim Rural Bank and Asante Akyim Rural Bank.
Most of these rural banks were ranked higher than some established multinationals such as Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, Interplant Limited, Activa Insurance, among others.
The list is announced from the bottom up.
