Huawei unveils 4G LTE technology and devices

Huawei, a leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has introduced the first 4G LTE network in Ghana and two new smart devices at the just-ended ITU Africa Regional Preparatory Meeting (RPM-AFR) in Accra.
Huawei’s 4G LTE (long-term evolution) promises faster video streaming and Internet downloads without any hitches and is suitable for video conferencing.

The 4G LTE is the latest standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals.

Huawei mounted demonstrations on how its 4G LTE functions and engaged the delegates in a telepresence interaction from the Accra International Conference Centre and the Office of the President Annex.

Officials of the company said Huawei’s 4G LTE network would make Ghana’s communications more effective, efficient and transparent.

Huawei also launched two advanced smart devices — the Huawei Ascend Mate and the Huawei Media Pad 10 FHD.

The Mate has an ultra large 6.1-inch screen, giving it the visual experience of a tablet and the convenience of a mobile phone merged into one portable powerhouse.

It features a massive 4050 mAh super large battery and Huawei’s patented QPC and ADRX smart power technology, allowing for two days of usage on a single charge.

The Huawei Media Pad 10 FHD is a 10.1-inch full HD screen tablet, with 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a high speed Quad Core CPU and the strongest 16-core GPU and supports LTE network.

“Huawei is in drive to be the smart phone leader in Ghana,” the PR Manager of Huawei, Mr Gideon Obeng, said.
