GREDA wants other players to join its ranks

GREDA President, Mr Kwakye Dopoah-Dei, has urged all private and independent estate developers, as well as input suppliers and service providers in the country who are yet to join the association to do so.

He said this would help create a self-sustaining organisation that provided members with meaningful opportunities to interact, exchange information and provide them with significant long-term value.

“When a group of people with a common interest come together, there is always a good scope of better business, learning and getting new ideas and innovations of the market,” the GREDA president said.

Speaking at a one-day workshop organised by the association for its members and other industry stakeholders in Accra recently, Mr Dopoah-Dei said GREDA was committed to providing meaningful real estate education to all members to ensure that end-users of their services got value for money.

The seminar is part of GREDA’s effort to expose members to contemporary and relevant issues, as well as to stimulate discussions of current business issues facing the real estate industry and was sponsored by Casa Palladio Limited, dealers in PVC windows and wooden internal doors.

Some of the topics discussed included: ‘Taxation on casual labour wages in the construction industry”, “The benefits and processes of land and property registration after purchase”, “Preparation of policy on the use of local raw materials” and “Packaging customers to access mortgage finance from financial institutions”.

Mr  Dopoah-Dei said GREDA cherished its relationship with all industry stakeholders, including the government, and expressed the hope that the right conditions would be created to attract more investments to the sector to further reduce the housing deficit.

“We take great pride in our partnership with our stakeholders and are very confident that this relationship will only strengthen as we confront challenges facing the industry.”
