The minister, together with Mr Emmanuel Asigri, CEO of the National Youth Authority, yesterday inspected the facility, which is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed in June this year.

The NPP MP for Atwima Mponua said after the inspection that he was highly impressed with the progress of work at the facility.

“The quality of work is great; I didn't know a lot goes into the pitch construction — the irrigation system and all that.

"Certainly, this will create jobs for the youth in the community and its surrounding areas, as well as unearth talents," Mr Asiamah said.

"Few months from now, we are expecting President Akufo-Addo to commission the 10 facilities aimed at providing platforms for the youth in the country.

This goes to show that the promise to provide the 10 regions with sporting infrastructure was not an empty promise."

The 5,000-capacity Nyinahin project houses a FIFA-standard football pitch, athletics tracks, courts for volleyball and basketball, ICT and counseling centres, a restaurant and offices.
