FNB wins Emerging Brand award

First National Bank (FNB) was adjudged the Emerging Brand of the year 2017 at the recent Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) awards ceremony.

A citation accompanying the award said the honour was in recognition of the bank’s performance in strategic marketing and brand exposure in the country.

The Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications of the FNB, Mr Delai Dzidzienyo, said the development was a reflection of the bank’s commitment to strengthen financial services in the country.

He said the achievement would embolden the FNB  to initiate more innovative products to provide customers with better marketing and business solutions.

“Our journey so far in Ghana has been very exciting. We are looking forward to seeing more exciting times ahead. Our brand is very strong and we believe our presence here in Ghana will help strengthen the financial services industry,” Mr Dzidzienyo said.

Other achievements

The FNB  was established in Ghana in 2015. Three years down the line, the bank can boast of seven branches in Accra, with plans far advanced to set up a branch in Kumasi by the end of 2018.

Background

The FNB is a subsidiary of South Africa’s FirstRand Group, the largest bank by market capitalisation listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange – Africa’s largest bourse.

The bank also has presence in other African countries including Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya and Angola.

Mr Dzidzienyo stated that the FNB was leveraging on the experience and financial muscle of its parent company to excel in Ghana.
